Tiny Pearls

Tiny Pearls curriculum is scientifically designed keeping in mind how children learn best. The curriculum integrates physical, intellectual, social and emotional needs. There are no formal exams for pre - primary classes. Children are observed from _me to _me while they are performing in the class, in group or as an individual. Children are assessed on the basis of continuous evaluation.

Classes I – IV

  • There will be 6 cycle tests conducted periodically on every day. A comprehensive evaluation through activities and pen paper tests will be implemented to assess the student’s academic performance.

    Classes V-VIII

    • Four Periodic Test cycles will be conducted at regular intervals throughout the year.
    • No retest will be conducted in case of absenteeism in Periodic Tests. Only if the child is representing the school in an event or is suffering from severe ailments where the child is indisposed with a condition that the parents bring medical certificate the same day and take permission from the Principal, then the paper will be conducted with due permission from the Principal.
    • Apart from the 4 Periodic Test cycles the school will conduct two examinations of 80 marks each in all subjects.
    • A 5% weightage is allotted to subject enrichment activities like Lab work, ASL, Map work etc. and another 5% for timely completion and submission of notebooks and assignments. Students must also maintain75% attendance in all the terms.

    Class X & XII

    • Three Periodic Test cycles will be conducted in which UT-1 will be of 30 marks & UT-2 and UT-3 of 35 marks each at regular intervals throughout the year.
    • No retest will be conducted in case of absenteeism in Periodic Tests. Only if the child is representing the school or is suffering from severe ailments where the child is indisposed with a condition that the parents bring medical certificate the same day and take permission from the Principal, then the paper will be conducted with due permission from the Principal.
    • The school will conduct Midterm examinations, Half Yearly and two cycles of Pre-Boards of 80/100 marks each in all subjects. It is compulsory for the student to pass in all examinations.
    • 10% in each subject is earmarked for internal assessment by schools and 5% weightage is allotted to subject enrichment activities like Lab work, ASL, Map work etc. and another 5% for timely completion and submission of notebooks and assignments. Students must also maintain75% attendance in all the terms

    Class IX & XI

    Three periodic tests will be conducted in which UT-I will be of 30 marks and UT-II and UT-III will be of 35 marks each. The weightage for the promotion will be as below:- Unit Tests - 20% Half Yearly Exams - 30% (It is mandatory to pass the theory & practicals papers separately) Annual Exams - 50% (It is mandatory to pass the theory & practicals papers separately) No absenteeism for Unit Test will be allowed and student will be marked ZERO, if absent. Students must also maintain75% attendance in all the terms.

    Exit Cards: A system of exit card has been included in the assignment wherein after each chapter/topic/concept a test will be conducted. It is mandatory for a student to score more than 50% in each exit card test per subject in order to become eligible for promotion.

    PROMOTION POLICY

    Middle School: VI – VIII

    A student is granted promotion to the next class if he/she scores a cumulative score of 40% in each subject.

    Secondary School: IX – X

    Promotion is subject to the rules laid down by CBSE. It is mandatory to appear for all tests and exams.

    • The detailed syllabus for the tests will be forwarded in the monthly planner.
    • Class XI - To earn promotion to the 2nd year of the +2 stage (Class XII), a student must clear/pass in each of the five subjects (one core language + four electives). In subjects where practicals are involved, the rule of passing separately in theory and practical’s is applicable as per the norms of CBSE.

    SPECIAL NOTE FOR CLASS X & XII

    • Students of class X & XII must pass in all the five subjects in their Unit Tests, Midterm Exams and Half Yearly Examinations to become eligible for submission of forms for the Board Examinations in the ensuing year.
    • They must also log in the minimum prescribed attendance of 75% as per CBSE norms.
    • Students who have appeared in Board Examinations must collect their marksheets within one year of the declaration of results.

    OTHER RULES GOVERNING PROMOTION

    • Absence from the assessment / unit test / examinations / in the system of continuous evaluation is not permitted. A students who is absent for an assessment/unit test/ examination is not retested/re examined and loses the credits of the missed test/ examination in the cumulative score.
    • Promotion is based on the year-long continuous and comprehensive evaluation.
    • A student whose attendance during the year is less than 85% (classes VI-IX) and 75% (Classes X-XII) may not be promoted to the next higher class as per the CBSE rules. The school does not entertain any concession in the shortage of attendance or for the re- examina tion of the students who have failed to earn promotion to the next higher class.
    • A student repeating any class upto IX is allowed to repeat the class for one year, but if he/ she fails to clear promotion to the next higher class at the end of the repetition year, he/she is issued a transfer certificate.
    • Rules subject to change as per CBSE norms.
    • All students must collect marks sheets within one year of declaration of results.

    SCHOLARSHIP POLICY

    To continue with scholarship in class XII an aggregate of 85% and 85 Marks in the following subject must be maintained.

    Science Commerce Humanities
    Physics Accounts History
    Chemistry Business Studies Political Science
    Maths / Biology Economics Economics

    Note: Students must also maintain 75% attendance in all the terms of the session.

  • Each class room is equipped with smart boards and teaching takes place through interactive sessions. The school aims at the holistic development of every student. Each child is nurtured to grow into a confident and responsible individual as well as a worthy citizen.
